I can do this in my sleep

I had been developing a new Party Style for my Caricatures. Over-the-top Fun Cartoony. Cartoony ~ Is that the word? What I mean by it is clean shapes and unexpected representations. Barely got a handle on it, when I went out to this job.

Egads ~ Last-minute booking, long drive, and show up at 6am to set up and deal with all sorts of red tape to get in to the Event. That meant I was working on only two-and-a-half hours sleep. I don't think people understand what's involved when they send me the information at the last minute. I have a lot to prepare.

It felt like I was in a dream of some sort. And I was working along-side another Artist who had handled this Event for several years already. He had a very basic, but lovely, drawing style. Not very exaggerated at all. So I felt confused about how to draw. Stick to my own path? Or draw in my own style but more basic, like the other Artist?

On shaky ground, I didn't quite make a decision. And I couldn't do my new Party Style anyway, because I didn't have enough sleep.

The art is in the moment. I just drew. I did whatever I did. And they came out great!

I wish I had time to document my whole Career in addition to Doing it. But it's all I can do right now to post a couple of the Caricatures that I drew at this Event. This Brewing Company makes great Events all over, and this is the 3rd (4th?) time that I drew Caricatures for them. They like me to Entertain the Guests by drawing them as Mermen and Mermaids, and that I did:
